For over 35 years, Mark Mueller has been captivating viewers and collectors with his life-like paintings of the natural world. Working primarily in acrylics, he specializes in capturing the beauty of North American wildlife. Perhaps best known for his rendering of water, his meticulously detailed paintings have gained him national acclaim. A self-taught artist, he began drawing and painting at a very young age. His love for nature and the outdoors developed throughout his childhood, as was told by his drawings of birds and fish. It wasn’t until his early twenties, however, that he would start painting animals and nature professionally. In 1990, he graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in illustration. While in his senior year at Syracuse, he paid a visit to a local wildlife art gallery and was so inspired that he knew from that point he wanted to be a wildlife artist. He sold his first painting of a brown trout later that same year. Mark currently lives in Hardyston, New Jersey with his wife and three sons. When he isn’t behind the easel, he enjoys spending time with his family and teaching his sons about wildlife, nature and fishing. Achievements |
